Wear the World

As mentioned in my social media, this summer I am a Serengetee Rep. Serengetee is a wonderful company which supports many causes around the world through selling unique fabrics from many different countries. Serengetee can best be explained through their story:

Serengetee started in 2012 after Jeff and Ryan met on Semester at Sea, a study abroad program that circumnavigates the globe by ship. While traveling, we began exploring markets and collecting fabric from countries in Africa, Asia, and Central America. We wanted to find a way to use these fabrics to make positive change in the world; we wanted to become the first brand centered around fabric. So with zero fashion experience, we used the last pennies in our pockets and started cutting, sewing, and shipping pocket tees from our dorm room. From day one, the mission was at the heart of everything Serengetee. By purchasing fabric from over 25 countries, we support artisans, their families, and ancient fabric making traditions. And, by giving back 10% of our profits to a diverse range of grassroots causes, we work to improve lives in their communities. The stories of these fabric makers and causes are baked into every product we make, so when you wear Serengetee you are truly wearing a piece of the world. So we'll continue to travel and explore, looking for the next story to tell about an artisan or cause that inspires us. After all, Serengetee is all about them.
Wear The World,Jeff & Ryan
I fully support this company, and am proud to be able to represent them and share their story with others. Being a Rep is also an amazing experience. I have been able to connect with so many other Reps, as well as getting a super awesome Rep Pack (video here), and being able to provide a discount (listed in my Instagram bio) to encourage people to purchase their products. Serengetee is truly a wonderful company.

Festive-ities

Christmas is just around the corner! So now is the time to get everything done and get into a festive mood. Here are some ideas to get this holiday week kicked off!

Make a gingerbread house
I love making gingerbread houses! Whether you make it from scratch or use a kit, it can still be a fun activity for a group of family or friends, or even to do by yourself. The one I made, as pictured here, was a kit. I also bought a couple extra decorations that did not come in the box. My mom and I had a great time doing this together and it always puts me into a festive mood!

Bake some cookies
Baking cookies is a Christmas tradition in many homes. I love having the job of being head cookie baker for my family! There are so many kinds of cookies you can make, but here are a few of my top recommendations-
Chocolate Chip- nothing can beat a classic chocolate chip! And if you feel like being even more festive, swap out chocolate chips for holiday colored M&Ms!
Peanut Butter- these taste amazing, and there's nothing better than adding a chocolate kiss on top!
Sugar- everyone needs a good sugar cookie recipe. I love using cookie cutters on my sugar cookie dough and decorating them as trees, reindeer, and santa hats!

Christmas Movie Marathon
It's not Christmas for me until I've watched my favorite Christmas movies! My top 10 list would have to be (in no particular order)...

  • Elf
  • Santa Clause (1,2,and 3!)
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • The Polar Express
  • A Christmas Story
  • Home Alone
  • It's a Wonderful Life
  • A Charlie Brown Christmas

Wrap some presents
Wrapping presents can be a burden at times, so I try to turn it into a fun activity by adding some fun! I love making things look beautiful, and wrapping is a great chance to show some creativity. And whether or not you use bags or paper, bow or tissue, you can make any present look wonderful.

This
video offers some ideas if you can't come up with anything creative!

Listen to christmas carols
And finally, you must listen to all the classic christmas songs. Here are my top 10 (once again in no particular order)...

  • All I Want for Christmas is You
  • Blue Christmas
  • Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • Believe
  • Frosty the Snowman
  • Where Are You Christmas
  • Jingle Bell Rock
  • Last Christmas
  • Silent Night
  • Holly Jolly Christmas

Scary Yet Sophisticated: Halloween Party Ideas

I've been so excited for Halloween this year, and preparing for a spooktacular party! If you are wondering how I'm celebrating, or looking for some last minute inspiration, look no further!

The first thing you need to remember is food! Here are some ideas that I have tested out and love!
Stabbbed, blood filled red velvet, graveyard, dirt filled chocolate, and cobwebbed chocolate cupcakes
candy corn patterned jello shots (virgin or alcoholic)

The other key component is the decor! Most of my decor items were found at Target!

Surrounding Scents

The past week or so has been very rainy and cold. During times like this, I just want to stay inside and wrap myself up and enjoy the coziness of my home, and theres no better way to do that then by lighting a candle! I sound super nerdy, but they really help me relax and they smell so good! Here are some of my favs...

My first pick is the Brown Sugar Allspice candle. It smells exactly like it claims, brown sugar. I feel like someone is baking cookies or a pie when I smell it.  Although this candle definitely isn't for all. You need to be the kind of person that likes the more spicy scents rather than sweet.

The next candle is a seasonal favorite, Autumn. This has a more sweet scent to it. It's a very fresh, crisp scent, neither fruity nor flowery, but still sweet. Perfect to light any time of the day.

This one I smelled while it was burning in the store, and i fell in love with immediately: Marshmallow Fireside. Once again, this scent is true to its name. I honestly felt like i was roasting marshmallows with my friends by a campfire when I smelled this. Just amazing.

The last candle is Flannel. It has almost a cologne type scent, but its great. It almost smells like you are hugging a guy who just got ready for the day. I sound really weird but thats how my friend described it and I can't disagree ;)

Overall, I think all of these smell wonderful. Obviously I got all of these at Bath and Body Works, and they also have so many more to choose from, these were just my top picks. Find more scents here
